Pre-Event Instructions:
  • After you log in to the HOOKS Conference Dashboard, you will need to create your profile in REMO, the virtual platform.   To do this, please follow the steps below.
    • From the Conference Dashboard, click on Main Conference in the top navigation bar.
    • Click on the access link to the "Morning Session" 
    • Click on the next link that comes up.   This will take you to our virtual platform REMO.
    • Click on "Save My Spot"
    • Click on "Register Now" and create your username/password.
    • Once this is complete, click on the Conference Dashboard again.
    • Click on the Morning Session access link.
    • Click on link again to access REMO
    • At the top right hand corner of the screen there is a circle that states "My Profile".
    • Click on "My Profile"
    • Click edit profile add a picture and all your information.   Be sure to add the URL for your LinkedIn profile.  This will be your virtual business card!

 

Live Event Instructions - Main Ballroom

The “main ballroom” is where you first appear when you join a Remo event. You’re assigned to a “table” when you join the event; these tables provide a smaller group to talk in. Below is an example of a table with 6 delegates on “third table” – the other tables are empty:

  • MPORTANT: When you login make sure your microphone and video camera is on. This will provide you with the best possible experience.
  • You can join another table in Remo by double-clicking on a table with a free space.
  • If you have a smaller screen, you may not be able to see every table in the video call. You can scroll around the room by holding down your left mouse button and dragging the room.

 

Live Event Instructions - The "Call Bar" 

 

  • The call bar gives you options to interact and contribute during your video call. This appears at the bottom of your screen on laptops and desktop computers:

  • The Tile view allows you to focus on those in your table’s video chat. You can use the Back to map button (bottom left of the screen) to return to the room view and explore different tables:


  • The Cam On / Cam Off option allows you to disable or enable your own camera. The Mic On / Mic Off option allows you to disable or enable your own microphone.
  • The Chat option provides access to a group-wide messaging system – handy to share links, videos or communicating privately with specific attendees.
  • Share Screen allows you to share what’s on your screen with those at your table.
  • The Whiteboard option provides a canvas for you to draw ideas and share them with your fellow table mates.
  • HAVE FUN! This platform is not like any other you have experienced!

 

About the Technology:
  • As REMO uses the latest video technology, make sure your browser and operating system (OS) is updated to the latest version. Please check that you are using a compatible browser and OS that fulfills the versions listed HERE. 
  • Remo currently only supports Chrome, Safari, or Firefox browser on your desktop/laptop computer.   Remo highly recommends using the Chrome browser.
  • Mobile and tablet versions are not currently supported. Desktop or Laptop are the only sources that support Remo at this time.
