Session Description

In today’s hyper-competitive business environment senior leaders expect HR professionals to deliver value outcomes that are aligned with, support and assist in achieving the organization’s business strategy. And HR professionals are usually very willing to do so - but often lack an effective course of action.

This workshop will provide a practical methodology for HR professionals to follow in developing and implementing a strategic HR plan that will deliver desired business results while meeting their personal performance objectives.

Learning Objectives

  • Explore the significant differences between an operational versus a strategic HR leadership approach
  • Clarify the purpose and operational reality of your HR function in the context of your organization’s business strategy
  • Utilize practical ‘listening’ tools to understand the most important needs of HR’s internal customers in order to align your HR processes with your organization’s vision and business strategy
  • Utilize a Strategic Frame of Reference methodology to move your team from its ‘what is’ current state toward your ‘what if’ vision for future success
  • Develop priority strategic initiatives by utilizing a SWOT Analysis, an Importance/Performance Matrix, a Customer Report Card and other practical, strategic tools
  • Implement a strategic leadership approach to your work environment in order to make your vision your reality
