The landscape of the CBD and marijuana industry is changing at record pace. Regardless

of the industry or state you do business in, it is essential that HR professionals are

educated and able to communicate with employees and leaders throughout the

organization on this fluid topic. This session takes us “back to school” to understand the

history and science behind cannabis products, THC and CBD, and provide a realistic plan

for workplace policies, employee communication, and reasonable suspicion testing.

Learning Objectives

• Discuss the history of CBD and the 2018 Farm Bill’s impact on the industry

• Examine the biology of the Cannabis plant, hemp, and THC

• Learn the differences between CBD and THC

• Review the current national landscape of recreational and medical marijuana

• Understand the importance of clear HR policies and a robust Reasonable Suspicion

program.
